God told me... 2023 03 23

I was awakened at 6 am. I could hear Mom calling from her room, "Please give me something for this pain." Her left arm was hurting again and she had to be feeling pretty miserable to call out like that.

I brought her a pain killer and got her settled with her morning juice. By the time the kettle boiled for her tea she was fast asleep.

When the Home Support Caregiver arrived at 8 am, Mom was sound asleep and I had to wake her. Before she was fully awake she started talking, saying, "God told me to stay in bed for 24 hours." Once she was fully awake, she insisted this was to be her plan for the day. She was going to stay in bed, in her nightgown, until Friday morning. The Caregiver gave her sponge bath in the bed, careful not to re-activate the pain in Mom's left arm.

Once the Caregiver was gone, Mom had a nice hot bowl of oats and raisons with a fresh cup of tea sitting on her bed. I busied myself with morning chores - all the tasks that need to be done to get Mom's household underway. Once Mom finished her breakfast she lay back down on her pillow and fell into another deep sleep.

She spent the rest of the day in bed, alternating between doing her exercises, meditating on the clock, eating, and sleeping.

Trevor stopped by to play music with Mom. She used her hand weights as a percussion instrument, which made music and gave her arms a workout.

Several times throughout the day I checked in to see if she wanted to get off the bed. She was adamant that she was to stay on the bed for the day. I respected her decision and visited her in room to make sure she had everything she needed.

Mom hears voices. Today it was God giving her instructions. No problem. She had a good day, it was a very quiet time.
